Calendar (Oracle) FAQ:
How do I create a Calendar account?
In most cases, a UGA Faculty/Staff member may create a Calendar account online by following these instructions:
- Go to the UGA Calendar Service Page: ( http://www.eits.uga.edu/calendar )
- Click on "Create A Calendar Account"
- Fill out the form and click "Create Account"
NOTE: A user must have a valid UGA MyID to be eligible to create a Calendar account electronically.
- The account will be created in about 2-3 business days (but usually less time than that).
NOTE: You may get a message that you are not eligible when attempting to create your Calendar account via the web form. This typically happens to brand new faculty/staff members who aren't in our system yet or to faculty or staff who used to be students.. If either of the above is the case, click on the link for the MANUAL ACCOUNT CREATION FORM found here:

The account will be created manually within 2-3 business days.
How do I change my Calendar password?
If you have forgotten your calendar password:
- Go to http://www.eits.uga.edu/calendar/
- Click on "Change Password" on the right
- At the bottom, click under where it says "Forgotten Password use the form available here", and be sure to click on the "here" link
- Fill out the webform and click on "Change password
If you'd like to change your calendar password through the web interface:
- Login via http://calendar.uga.edu
- Locate the Password Change Icon on the upper tool bar. (It's in the upper right-hand corner. It looks like a small key)
- Enter the old/new password and click on "Change Password".

How do I create a Calendar resource?
- Go to the UGA Calendar Service page: http://www.eits.uga.edu/calendar/index.php?c=home
- Click on "Create Resources"
- Fill out the webform and click "Submit"
- Resources are created manually, so it takes 1-2 business days
NOTE: This form must be completed by someone authorized to speak for the department
How do I update the email address associated with my Calendar account?
- Send an email to helpdesk@uga.edu
Include:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your department
- Your current email address that is associated with the calendar account
- The new email address you would like associated with account
How do I change my full name in my calendar account?
- First confirm that your name has been changed in the Online Directory
NOTE: This step must be completed before continuing. The person in your department who is responsible for personnel reports can get this changed for you if you have not already done so.
- Send and email to helpdesk@uga.edu

- Your Department

How do I make somebody a calendar designate (with full rights)?
A calendar designate is someone who has the power to view and/or edit another person's agenda in UGA's Calendar system. Department Heads and other busy people all across campus may choose to give someone else designate rights so they can help manage their schedules for them. Setting the designate rights incorrectly can potentially give access to the public, so be careful when setting these preferences on your account. A full designate has the power to view and make changes to everything in your calendar account.
You can make somebody a calendar designate via the web interface ( http://calendar.uga.edu ) or via the downloadable desktop client, which can be obtained here ( http://www.eits.uga.edu/calendar/index.php?c=download )
Via the Desktop Client
- Launch Oracle Calendar
- Log in with your Calendar username & password
- Go to Tools ---> Access Rights
- In the text field, enter the Calendar username of the person you want to set up as designate and click on the check icon
- With the designate's username highlighted, click on the check box labeled Full designate rights. Full Viewing & Viewing Task rights can also be set by clicking on the appropriate tab.

Via the Web Interface
- Go to http://calendar.uga.edu
- Log in with your Calendar username & password
- Click on the Edit Access Rights icon in the top right corner (it looks like a little key with people standing behind it)
- Type in the calendar username of the person you want to set up as designate and click on Find
- Highlight their username and click on Edit Access Rights
- On the following screen, you can customize Viewing & Designate rights by clicking on the appropriate Customize button and checking the appropriate radio buttons.
